The Messiah flew into town here today. The jet wash from Air Force One which permeated those of us in the great unwashed, provided economic stimulus. I was frozen right after The Messiah touched down. I was as useless as a visitor from Michigan or Indiana who doesn't understand you can turn right on red after a stop in a major intersection. I went to Home Depot to purchase some 5 gallon buckets just to catch all the money our leader was going to be throwing around.
Laugh if you must, but review the questions which came out of the Town Hall meeting here today. Nearly everyone was asking for something. Henrietta Hughes asked for a house and a car. Someone asked for Obama to insure unemployment insurance pay the entire amount of lost salary. Then, a young 20 something kid who has worked at McDonalds' for 4 years asked, while jumping up and down, what Obama was going to do to make sure people like him will get better benefits. Welcome to Ft Misery BHO. You got a limo trip into the downtown heart of Ft Myers right down through Dunbar on MLK drive. Folks started lining MLK at 6am this morning, and when they were interviewed by the hometown media, there were lots more folks who wanted something for nothing.
5 Presidents have visited Ft. Myers. In an ironic twist, the first was Herbert Hoover. Hoover is credited with the Great Depression, but it was Roosevelt who carried it on. Hoover was elected President with no actual experience, he was a Cabinet official. His decision to defeat the economic downturn in 1929, was an increase in volunteer efforts and increased government actions. Sound familiar? Whats more ironic about the visit today by The Messiah is, that Hoover came to Ft Myers to visit Thomas Edison on his birthday. Edison's birthday is February 11th. Edison used to frequent the downtown area near the City Tavern and Arcade Theater, a mere 2 blocks from where Obama spoke today at the Harborside Convention Center.
Right out of the gate today, Obama started naming folks who lost their jobs, and brought up Steve Adkins, owner of Target Construction, a local company which remodels schools. He's had to lay off workers and has had to sell his house and downsize for his family of four. He's a model of everything that's wrong here in Lee County. Steve and his wife Michelle, have really undergone some hard times. Most likely he was hooked up to government projects and the money sucking off the government tit was drying up. Let's look and see just how horrible Steve and Michelle's life is.......................
According to the Lee County Property Appraiser website, Steve and/or wife Michelle own:
